Our Reds finished the regular season in first place. The top playoff is ahead, and the battle for promotion to the Premier League is in full swing

The club’s senior women’s team wrapped up the regular season this week with an impressive win over Maccabi Rehovot. After Ofer Ben Ze’ev’s players faced each team in the league twice - home and away - the focus now shifts to the top playoff and the clear objective: a return to the Premier League at the end of the season.

So how does the league format work?
The Women’s National League includes ten teams. In the regular season, each team played every other team twice - home and away. The top playoff features four teams, where once again each team plays the others twice. The top two teams at the end of the playoff will be promoted to the Premier League.

Stats and numbers
Hapoel played 18 league matches this season. They won 14, drew four and remained unbeaten. The team conceded only five goals and scored 91.

Hapoel sit first in the table with 46 points out of a possible 54. Bnot Netanya are second with 44 points, while Maccabi Netanya and Hapoel Be’er Sheva are third and fourth respectively with 37 points each.

Leading the team’s scoring chart is Eden Avital with 28 goals. She is followed by Roni Ohana with 14, Hodiya Biton - who joined in January - with 11, Gil Havazelet with 9, centre-back Shay Perl with 7 and Georgian captain Ana Cheminava with 6.

The Israel women's national football team will open its 2027 World Cup qualifying campaign next week with two matches against Belgium. Two Hapoel players - goalkeeper Agam Haviv and midfielder Zohar Cohen - have been called up to the national squad. For Zohar, this marks her first senior international call-up.

Head coach Ofer Ben Ze’ev summed up the regular season and looked ahead to the playoffs: "I’m happy we finished the regular season in first place and very proud of the players and staff for the journey we’ve made so far. We’re entering a playoff that will be very tough and challenging, against the strongest teams in the league. We will do everything we can to maintain our good form in order to achieve the goal we set for ourselves: a return to the Premier League".

The team’s home matches are, of course, held at the Hodorov Complex, and the playoff fixture list is attached below. Final kickoff times will be published about a week before each match.
