The senior women's team returned to league action after more than two months, kicking off the playoffs with a convincing win

The women's team opened the upper playoff of the National League this Monday evening, hosting Hapoel Be'er Sheva for Matchday 19. This marked the team’s return to the pitch after a two-month hiatus due to the war.

Ofer Ben Zeev’s squad, who finished the regular season in first place, started with a storm - ending the first half with a 3:0 lead. Orian Biro scored the opener assisted by Hodiya Biton, who then scored the second herself following a setup by Eden Avital. Biton added two more assists for Yetunde Adeboyejo, who netted a brace, and Eden Avital sealed the final score after receiving a pass from Gil Havatzelet. A dominant 5:0 win for the Reds, who played tonight in white and black.

Moving tributes were held in memory of Yemno Zalka, who was tragically murdered on the eve of Independence Day. A minute of silence was observed before kickoff, and after scoring the opening goal, Orian Biro displayed a message on her hand bearing his name. May his memory be a blessing.

Hapoel maintained its position at the top of the table with 49 out of a possible 57 points. They currently hold a 4-point lead over second-place Bnot Netanya and an 11-point lead over third-place Maccabi Netanya (the top two teams earn promotion to the Premier League), with 15 points still left to play for. In the next round, the team will host Bnot Netanya.

Hapoel lineup: Agam Haviv, Shoval Kedoshim (Yaara Ravid, 81'), Shay Perl, Thaína Marins, Shira Feniger (Gil Havatzelet, 59'), Noy Bengal, Anna Cheminova (Moran Heyman, 81'), Eden Avital, Yetunde Adeboyejo (Hadas Prawer, 67'), Hodiya Biton (Noa Levy, 81').
