The U19 team hosted Hapoel Ra'anana this Saturday in Matchday 8 of the Youth Premier League. Following a dramatic 3-3 draw against Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the previous round, the Reds looked to return to winning ways—just before heading into the long international break.
In the 12th minute, Hapoel fell behind to an early goal. Eight minutes later, full-back Shai Waxman surged down the right flank and played a through ball to Avi Dagim, who squared it into the center; Alon Moskovich struck first-time into the net for his second consecutive goal, leveling the score.
In the 39th minute, Waxman exchanged passes with the first goalscorer, Moskovich, drove forward, and slotted home his first goal of the season to give Hapoel the lead. Avi Dagim sealed the win in the second half with a strike from inside the box into the keeper's right corner, scoring in his second consecutive match and tallying his third goal of the season. 3-1 to Hapoel at full time.
Assaf Gorenstein's side moved provisionally into second place in the league table with 17 points out of a possible 24. The league now pauses for the international break and will resume on October 10, when Hapoel visits Ramat HaSharon.
