Within just one year, the club’s senior women’s team has returned to the top flight: “We’ll celebrate this moment the way it deserves - but with humility and the understanding that we’ve only returned Hapoel to its natural place”

The club’s women’s team completed its mission for the season tonight (Monday): promotion back to the Israeli Women’s Premier League. Two years ago, the team earned promotion to the top division for the first time in its current form, but was relegated after just one season.

Now, after an outstanding and impressive campaign, Hapoel returns to the biggest stage of women’s football in Israel, securing promotion with a 1:4 win over Maccabi Netanya, three rounds before the end of the season.

Coached by Ofer Ben Ze’ev, the team has played 21 league matches this season, collecting 55 points out of a possible 63 (17 wins and 4 draws, unbeaten). They scored 105 goals while conceding just 7.

Women’s department sporting director Oshrat Eni said: “There are moments that are hard to truly process. I’m proud and full of appreciation for this incredible season. Huge thanks to Ofer and the professional staff, to the players who met the high standards we set from day one, to every department at the club for the daily support, to the club ownership and management for their trust and backing, and to our amazing fans who kept pushing us forward - we’re waiting for you at our final home match on May 26.

Now, we’ll celebrate this moment the way it deserves and the way we know how - but with humility and the understanding that we’ve only brought Hapoel back to its natural place. Now it’s time to work hard, stay hungry, and show what we’re capable of in the top division, differently from our previous visit there… better, stronger, more experienced - and more red”.

Head coach Ofer Ben Ze'ev added: “I’m happy we achieved the goal we worked toward all season long - returning the club to where it belongs, the top division. The players’ commitment to our path, together with the incredible work of the entire staff, helped us reach our objective. At the same time, we still have another goal: finishing in first place. Hapoel Tel Aviv is a club that strives to position itself at the top, and I believe it will go as far as possible in the future. I thank everyone who supported us throughout this season, especially the staff and the amazing players - for the privilege of working with them”.
