Our youth team played this morning (Saturday) against Maccabi Petah Tikva as part of the 9th round of the Israeli Premier Youth League, in a match held at HaMoshava Stadium.

Shahar Wizenger’s players came into the match with five straight wins - the most recent one a 2:0 victory over Hapoel Ramat Hasharon last Saturday. The coach made several changes to the lineup, especially in the attacking positions.

The match started perfectly for the Reds, who took the lead through Or Mesika, scoring in back-to-back matches and raising his tally to four goals this season. In the 67th minute, captain Idan Kapellner was fouled in the box. Substitute striker Omri Levy stepped up, converted from the spot for his second goal of the season - sealing the match at 2:0 for our youth team, marking their sixth consecutive victory.

With the win, Hapoel kept first place in the league table, now with 21 points out of a possible 27. Next Saturday (Nov 8, 16:10), the team will host Maccabi Haifa in the 10th round, in a match that will take place at Lod Stadium.
