The stadium in the Hungarian city of Miskolc will host our home matches during the upcoming European campaign. Here is everything you need to know.
The 2026/27 season is just around the corner, and Hapoel Tel Aviv will begin its European journey in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. We can now confirm the venue that will serve as our home ground until our return to Israel: DVTK Stadium.
The draw for the second qualifying round will take place on June 17, while the two-legged tie is scheduled for July 23 and July 30.
DVTK Stadium is located approximately one hour and forty minutes from Hungary’s capital, Budapest, and around one hour from Debrecen. Opened in May 2018, the stadium has a capacity of 14,646 seats, all of which are fully covered. This modern venue offers supporters an excellent matchday experience and outstanding viewing conditions.
Miskolc is Hungary’s fourth-largest city, situated in the northeastern part of the country at the foothills of the picturesque Bükk Mountains. It lies approximately 180 kilometers from Budapest and is easily accessible via the M3 motorway or by direct rail connections.
Historically, Miskolc has been known as Hungary’s “Steel City.” During the 19th and 20th centuries, it became the heart of the nation’s heavy industry, centered around the district of Diósgyőr, where massive ironworks once operated.
This history is deeply intertwined with the identity of the club that will host us. In 1910, workers from the local metal and iron factories came together to establish a football club. The initials DVTK stand for Diósgyőri Vasgyári Testgyakorlók Köre, which translates literally as “The Gymnastics Association of the Diósgyőr Ironworks.”
In recent years, Miskolc has undergone a remarkable transformation. The city has reduced its reliance on heavy industry and emerged as a vibrant cultural and tourist destination. Its historic center revolves around Széchenyi Street, a beautiful pedestrian boulevard lined with cafés, restaurants serving local cuisine, and lively pubs. The city is also home to the National Theatre of Miskolc, the oldest stone-built theatre in Hungary.
DVTK Stadium is the home ground of Diósgyőri VTK, a Hungarian club founded in 1910 that also plays in red and white. Throughout its history, the club has won two domestic cup titles and has enjoyed several notable appearances in European competitions.
