The Red Devils arrived for the away match at Sammy Ofer Stadium against Maccabi Haifa as part of the penultimate round of the 2025/2026 season. After the team had already officially secured fourth place in the table and a ticket to the Conference League qualifiers for next season, the main aspiration was to return to winning ways. Hapoel started several players in the opening lineup who had not received many playing minutes during the season.
The encounter opened in a balanced manner, with both teams trying to dictate the pace of the game.
