Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv were defeated 2:1 this evening by Maccabi Haifa in Matchday 12 of the Winner League, with Korin pulling one back late.
Hapoel arrived at Sammy Ofer looking to build on the momentum from their recent league win over Bnei Sakhnin. The team played without supporters in the stands. They opened the match under pressure from the hosts, yet without conceding real chances. As the first half progressed Hapoel took control. Several promising opportunities were created, though none found the net. The half ended scoreless.
Early in the second half the hosts were awarded a penalty and converted. In the 58th minute Hapoel conceded again.
Late in the match Hapoel stepped up the pace and intensified the pressure. In the 88th minute Roy Korin found the net and narrowed the score to 2:1. The goal was not enough to change the outcome.
Following this match Hapoel stand on 18 points (after the deduction of two points) with a goal difference of 20:16.

Minute 22: Turiel fed Kreyev who delivered an excellent through ball to Loizou. He attempted a volley. Michael Ohana arrived just in time from behind and disrupted him and the ball went out for a corner.
Minute 31: Loizou slipped a superb through ball to Dappa who did not control it cleanly. He advanced slightly and shot, but Yermakov came out well and saved for a corner.
Minute 33: Dappa broke on a counterattack, could have passed to the side, but chose to shoot. The ball went wide.
Minute 37: A corner ball sailed past everyone. Yermakov punched poorly. Mayembo collected it and from a tight angle turned and fired well. The goalkeeper was alert and saved for another corner.
Minute 45: Dappa won the ball, advanced and struck a strong shot. Yermakov parried. Binyamin pounced on the rebound and shot on the turn, but again the keeper made a fine save.
Minute 51: Penalty for the hosts. They scored.
Minute 58: Hapoel conceded the second.
Minute 88: A long ball from Omri Altman found Leidner who squared to Korin who scored into an open net. 2:1.
