Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv recorded an important away victory this afternoon at the Barel Stadium beating Ironi Tiberias 2-0 as part of Matchday 22 of the Winner League. Lemkin and Alkukin scored.
Hapoel arrived this afternoon at the Green Stadium in Nof HaGalil to face Ironi Tiberias, with approximately five rounds remaining until the end of the regular season.
The Red Demons arrived with a streak of three consecutive league wins, aiming to continue their positive momentum against the northern rival.
Backed by an army of 4,000 Reds who provided a home atmosphere, Hapoel controlled the first half but failed to create significant scoring opportunities.
In the second half, the team shifted gears and began to apply pressure on the opponent's goal.
Further energy was injected in the 60th minute when Stav Toriel returned from injury and entered the match, as did Shahar Piven, who returned to the pitch shortly thereafter.
The pressure bore fruit in the 69th minute, when a team move ended with a strike by Amit Lemkin, who scored Hapoel’s opener (1-0) from close range Lemkin's third goal in the last four league games.
In the 83rd minute, the new signing, Emmanuel Boateng, came on for his debut. Towards the end, in the 89th minute, a ball cleared from the opponent's box reached Roei Alkukin, who unleashed a tremendous volley from 18 meters into the net, setting the final score at 2-0.
Hapoel now counts its fourth consecutive league victory, having scored two goals in each of these matches.
Following the victory, Hapoel returns to third place in the table with 41 points (alongside two points deducted by the court) and a goal difference of 41:25.
