Douglas Owusu has signed with the club on a four-year deal after successfully passing his medical examinations and being acquired from Red Star Belgrade. The Ghanaian will wear the number 35 shirt and will join his new teammates ahead of the return leg against GKS Katowice.
The 20-year-old Owusu moved to Serbia two years ago and signed with Radnik Surdulica, starting last season with 7 goals in 20 appearances. In January, he was acquired by Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade, for whom he scored two additional goals in 13 appearances—winning the domestic double.
Owusu said following his signing: "I am very excited to join this massive club. I've seen the extraordinary displays by the fans at matches, and I believe that together with the team, we will fight and give everything for Hapoel. I can't wait to see you in Hungary. Yalla Hapoel."
