The women’s team completed the first round of matches with a 4:0 victory over Maccabi Rehovot. Cheminava, Avital, Perl and Havatzalet scored
The senior team visited Maccabi Rehovot as part of Matchday 9, the final round of the first half of the Women’s National League season.
In the 18th minute, Ana Cheminava received the ball from Eden Avital on the left wing, beat her marker and struck to the goalkeeper’s near corner - and in. Six minutes before halftime, Eden Avital stepped up to take a penalty from 11 meters and placed it into the goalkeeper’s right corner, as the keeper dived left, doubling the lead. In stoppage time of the first half, Shai Perl scored the third after controlling a rebound from an Eden Avital shot and poking it home.
In the 73rd minute, Gil Havatzalet sealed the result with Hapoel’s fourth goal, receiving the ball on the edge of the box and blasting it into the top corner. 4:0 at full time.
Ofer Ben Zeev’s players finished the first round in second place in the league table, with 21 points from a possible 27 and a positive goal difference of 39:4. Next week, the team will open the second round with a home match against Hapoel Be’er Sheva, a top-of-the-table rival, whom we drew 2:2 against in the previous meeting.
