Here are the eight nominees for Goal of the Season

Vote for the Goal of the Season:

The coach will begin his third season in charge: “I’m happy to continue the journey we started together”

Ofer Ben Ze’ev will remain head coach of the club’s senior women’s team for the 2026/27 season. Last night, ahead of the team’s final match of the season - in which they lifted the league trophy and said goodbye to the second division - the players were informed that the coach would continue in his role.

Ben Ze’ev said after signing: “Coaching at Hapoel Tel Aviv is a huge privilege and source of pride for me. Every single day over the past year and a half, I’ve felt more and more how much this club is a warm home, and how much its women’s and girls’ department strives to set a high standard of professionalism and love for the game. I couldn’t be happier to continue the path we started. Next season we’ll return to the main stage, the top division, and aim to establish ourselves there - and beyond”.

Women’s department sporting director Oshrat Eni added: “I’m happy to continue working together with Ofer and I see it as a mutual vote of confidence. Many challenges lie ahead, and I’m looking forward to starting next season”.

Good luck, Ofer!

The U19s won 4:2 in Be’er Sheva, but it wasn’t enough to secure the championship. Talmi, Brosh, Olezki and levy scored

The youth team traveled to Be’er Sheva for the final match of the 2025/26 season knowing they were not dependent on themselves in the title race - needing both a win and dropped points from their rivals in the parallel fixture.

After just three minutes, Hapoel took the lead: Omri Levy controlled the ball brilliantly inside the box and squared it to Ron Talmi, who scored with one touch for his ninth league goal of the season. Seven minutes later, Alon Moskovich delivered a corner from the left and Yishai Brosh rose above everyone to make it 2:0 for the Reds. Be’er Sheva pulled one back just before halftime.

In the 80th minute, second-goal scorer Brosh delivered a perfect low cross, and Ravid Olezki tapped into an empty net for his 11th league goal of the season. Three minutes later, Be’er Sheva cut the deficit to 3:2. Deep into stoppage time, Raz Tamar played Omri Levy through on goal and he scored - 4:2 to Hapoel at full-time.

Due to the result in the parallel match, Hapoel finished the season in second place with 63 points from a possible 84, missing out on the title because of an inferior goal difference despite finishing level on points with their rivals.

Huge credit to Shahar Wizinger’s players - the future generation in red - for a successful season and a fantastic title fight until the very last moment. Their journey this season has come to an end, but this is definitely only the beginning. See you next season!

Hapoel lineup: Ynal Bzadog, Elay Mori, Yarin Shyovitz, Georgi Kuperba, Ofer Galbard, Yishai Brosh, Itamar Chosyd (Henly Agbo, 92’), Alon Moskovich (Raz Tamar, 78’), Ravid Olezki (Elad Ben Shimon, 92’), Ron Talmi (Fuad Ghanaim, 67’) and Omri Levy.

Barda and Altman ahead of the match against Beitar Jerusalem: “We know how important this match is for the fans and we want to end on a positive note”

Hapoel will play against Beitar Jerusalem tomorrow (23.5, 21:00) at Teddy Stadium for the final match of the 2025/26 season.

“We took a hard hit in the last match in Haifa with a disappointing result”, Barda opened. “For a long time now, we’ve wanted to improve our away performances, and now, in the final match of the season, we have the opportunity to do that. We want to finish the season well and we’ll come as prepared as possible”.

“At the end of the day, we’re playing for our pride and for our fans, for whom this match is important,” the coach added. “Usually, the way you finish a season is also the way you begin the next one - so we want to finish with a good atmosphere”.

Altman said: “It’s been a good and emotional season, and we want to finish it on a positive note. It’s important for us to head into the break feeling good and come back from Teddy with a win. We know how important this match is for the fans and we’ll approach it with full seriousness”.

A goal by Omri Levi kept the team level on points at the top of the table. Next week: The final round of the season

The youth team hosted Maccabi Haifa today (Saturday) for the 27th round of the U-19 Premier League, in what was the final home match of the season.

Just three minutes into the match, Ravid Olitsky made a great run down the left flank and was fouled inside the box. However, the ball reached Omri Levi, who struck it first-time into the back of the net to score his tenth league goal of the season.

Hapoel managed to hold onto the lead until the final whistle, securing a 1-0 win for the Reds, who are now looking ahead to the dramatic final round.

The Title Race Situation
Hapoel is currently level on points with Maccabi Tel Aviv (60 points each), with the city rivals sitting in first place due to a superior goal difference (+43 for Maccabi, +27 for Hapoel).

In the next round, which will close out the season, Hapoel will play away against Hapoel Beer Sheva, while Maccabi Tel Aviv will face Maccabi Haifa away. Shahar Weizinger’s squad will be aiming for a win in Beer Sheva while hoping for a slip-up by their city rivals in Haifa to lift the championship trophy.

Lineup
Hapoel lineup: Yanal Bezadoug, Ilay Muri, Guy Aligulashvili, Giorgi Kuperva, Ofer Gelbard, Yarin Shiovitz (Yishai Brosh, 60'), Itamar Chosid, Alon Moskovich (Henly Agbo, 89'), Ravid Olitsky (Raz Tamar, 89'), Ron Talmi (Fuad Ganaim, 78'), and Omri Levi.

Within just one year, the club’s senior women’s team has returned to the top flight: “We’ll celebrate this moment the way it deserves - but with humility and the understanding that we’ve only returned Hapoel to its natural place”

The club’s women’s team completed its mission for the season tonight (Monday): promotion back to the Israeli Women’s Premier League. Two years ago, the team earned promotion to the top division for the first time in its current form, but was relegated after just one season.

Now, after an outstanding and impressive campaign, Hapoel returns to the biggest stage of women’s football in Israel, securing promotion with a 1:4 win over Maccabi Netanya, three rounds before the end of the season.

Coached by Ofer Ben Ze’ev, the team has played 21 league matches this season, collecting 55 points out of a possible 63 (17 wins and 4 draws, unbeaten). They scored 105 goals while conceding just 7.

Women’s department sporting director Oshrat Eni said: “There are moments that are hard to truly process. I’m proud and full of appreciation for this incredible season. Huge thanks to Ofer and the professional staff, to the players who met the high standards we set from day one, to every department at the club for the daily support, to the club ownership and management for their trust and backing, and to our amazing fans who kept pushing us forward - we’re waiting for you at our final home match on May 26.

Now, we’ll celebrate this moment the way it deserves and the way we know how - but with humility and the understanding that we’ve only brought Hapoel back to its natural place. Now it’s time to work hard, stay hungry, and show what we’re capable of in the top division, differently from our previous visit there… better, stronger, more experienced - and more red”.

Head coach Ofer Ben Ze'ev added: “I’m happy we achieved the goal we worked toward all season long - returning the club to where it belongs, the top division. The players’ commitment to our path, together with the incredible work of the entire staff, helped us reach our objective. At the same time, we still have another goal: finishing in first place. Hapoel Tel Aviv is a club that strives to position itself at the top, and I believe it will go as far as possible in the future. I thank everyone who supported us throughout this season, especially the staff and the amazing players - for the privilege of working with them”.

The U19s secured three crucial points and moved level on points with their city rivals at the top of the table with two matches remaining. Olezki decided the derby with a stunning goal

The youth team visited their city rivals this Saturday for the Tel Aviv derby, played as part of Matchday 26 in the U19 Premier League.

The match was decided as early as the third minute. Ron Talmi delivered a free kick into the box, and Ravid Olitsky rose brilliantly before scoring with a spectacular bicycle kick to net the winner. It was Olezki’s tenth league goal of the season, moving him to the top of the club’s scoring charts.

Thanks to the victory, Shahar Wizinger’s side moved level on points with Maccabi Tel Aviv at the top of the table with 57 points each and two rounds left to play. Maccabi remain ahead on goal difference, while Hapoel will aim to win their final two matches and hope for a slip-up from their rivals.
