Hapoel secured a 2-0 victory tonight over Polish side GKS Katowice at DVTK Stadium in Miskolc, Hungary, in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round.

In front of the warm support of the Red Army in the stands, the Reds controlled most of the match and stormed out of the gates: as early as the 5th minute, Omri Altman delivered another brilliant assist with a low cross to Stav Toriel, who struck a low first-time finish into the net from 18 meters to score his first official goal of the season (1-0).

The Red pressure continued, and in the 18th minute, Emmanuel Boateng won the ball with excellent pressing and passed to Roei Alkokin, who doubled the lead with a sublime 20-meter chip over the goalkeeper (2-0).

Hapoel continued to create dangerous opportunities that were not converted into further goals.

The Red Devils head into the second leg in Poland in six days holding a valuable cushion and a crucial 2-0 advantage.
